Abstract:
In order to study the seismic performance of timber slab buckling restrained steel plate shear walls, low cycle reciprocatingload tests were conducted on specimens of timber slab buckling restrained steel plate shear walls and ordinary steel plate shear walls. The hysteresis performance, skeleton curve, bearing capacity, energy dissipation capacity, stiffness degradation and other properties ofthe two specimens were compared and analyzed. The research results indicate that the buckling constraint of the wooden cover plate ef-fectively prevents the overall buckling of the embedded steel plate and there is no significant damage to the wooden cover plate after thetest. The pinching of the hysteresis curve of the shear wall has been improved with a 12% and 13% increase in bearing capacity andductility, respectively and a nearly 20% increase in energy dissipation phenomenon.
