Abstract:
The simple immersion technique, combined with the sol-gel method, was employed to achieve a translucent superhydrophobic coating with a water contact angle of 157.7° and a rolling angle of 2°. This process is straightforward and cost-effective, making it suitable for large-scale production. The resulting superhydrophobic filter paper demonstrates the ability to separate various types of oils and exhibits versatility; after ten cycles of oil-water separation, its efficiency remains as high as 98.2%. Moreover, the coating possesses exceptional mechanical durability, enduring eleven cycles of abrasion with sandpaper. After seven weeks of outdoor exposure, ten days of ultraviolet irradiation, and acid-base testing, the water contact angle remains above 150°. The prepared coating showcases outstanding anti-fouling and self-cleaning properties.
