Abstract:
La 0. 7 Sm 0. 3 MgNi 3. 6 Co 0. 4 + 10% Ni alloy was prepared by ball milling. The effects of ball milling time on the microstructureand kinetic properties of La 0. 7 Sm 0. 3 MgNi 3. 6 Co 0. 4 + 10% Ni composite hydrogen storage alloy were investigated. According to XRD anal-ysis,the sample is composed of LaMgNi 4 H 4. 85 ,LaNi 5 H 6 and Ni after hydrogen absorption. These three phases transform into LaMgNi 4 ,LaNi 5 and Ni after dehydrogenation. From the SEM analysis,it can be seen that with the extension of ball milling time, the alloy parti-cles are gradually refined, and the cracking phenomenon of the alloy due to the internal stress in the crystal lattice after hydrogen ab-sorption. Due to the change of microstructure caused by ball milling, the dynamic properties of the alloy are improved.
