Abstract:
With the development of information technology, digital twin technology is gradually applied to the industrial field and shows great potential in the construction industry. However, in the field of historical building preservation, the application of digital twin technology has yet to be further studied. Therefore, this paper analyses the feasibility of applying digital twin technology to the conservation of historic buildings by introducing the relevant concepts and technical paths of digital twin technology. With the help of systematic modelling method, an integrated “reverse information acquisition-forward parametric modelling” approach to create digital twins of historical buildings is proposed. Moreover, in order to update the digital twin model, the article proposes the combination of Dynamo software and Revit software to achieve the interaction between reality and reality. In the end, based on the model created in the study, it is possible to achieve preventive conservation of historic buildings, and it also provides new support for better digital conservation of historic buildings.
